R2R in San Diego Sept 8th-11th

Prepared by Danny Herbst

After two long years, the R2R is back and promises to be better than ever!

The venue is San Diego California. San Diego is famous for its beautiful beaches and perfect, sunny weather, but it's also a great city to visit or live in if you love to ride. Southern California is the epicenter of biker culture, and there is no shortage of San Diego motorcycle rides. As we all know, IT NEVER RAINS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.

Here’s what you need to know for now

The dates are Thursday, September 8th (check in) to Sunday, September 11th (check out). The host hotel is the San Diego Marriott Del Mar, 11966 El Camino Real, San Diego, CA, 92130, (858) 523-1700

Individual Call-In/Reservation Web Link - Attendees shall make reservations online via booking link, or by calling our reservations department 1 (800) 228-9290 or (858) 523-1700. When making a reservation by phone, reference Jewish Motorcyclists Alliance (JMA) Conference 2022´. Once an individual reservation has been made, any changes should be made directly with our Group Reservations department.

The cause we are supporting this year is the very worthy Butterfly Project.

The Butterfly Project is a call to action through education, the arts and memorial making. Teaching social justice through lessons of the Holocaust, educating participants about the dangers of hatred and bigotry to cultivate empathy and social responsibility. By painting ceramic butterflies, which are displayed as symbols of resilience and hope, participants remember the 1.5 million children killed during the Holocaust. In this work, The Butterfly Project honors our commitment to the Survivors to Never Forget. This organization brings a novel and creative approach to Holocaust education, and we are proud to support them.

Southern California being the rider’s paradise that it is, there is no shortage of great rides, and we have some exceptional ones planned.

One is the 2 ½ hour ride to Idyllwild, California, a small mountain town 5,000 feet up in the San Jacinto mountains. Perfect for a ride on a summer (or fall or spring) day, virtually inaccessible during the winter. The tiny town, with shops and restaurants and makes for a great destination.

Fresh pastries at the Idyllwild Bake Shop

For those looking for a little more adventure, there is also a planned ride down the coast to Bahia Ensenada, Mexico.

Register for the event via this link and make your hotel reservations today.

The last day to register is August 25th. Don't wait until the last day as we need an accurate count of attendees to order food and to make other event plans. Please register soon!

See you in San Diego!

Replying to

Richard, you can buy limited sizes remaining - either small, extra large, or 2X or 3X sizes. The price is $20 for each shirt plus the cost of shipping. You’d have to send payment to Lauren Secular, JMA Treasure.
