JMA Members Are Exceptionally Generous Yet Again

Written by Bruce Ente, JMA Treasurer

Although the 2021 Ride2Remember to Chattanooga, Tennessee had to be canceled due to the ongoing pandemic, our members stepped up to bat and contributed a total of $46,200 to the Whitwell Holocaust Memorial (aka the "paperclips museum").

Our fundraising effort was kicked off by the tremendous generosity of Cleveland Shul Boys members Barb and Abe Miller who offered a challenge grant of $25,000. Three JMA clubs and a couple hundred individual members collectively added another $21,200 for a grand total of $46,200! Most of the individual donations came in the form of paid R2R registrations that were converted to charitable contributions -- what a big-hearted gesture! Thanks to everyone who pitched in!

The Holocaust museum at the Whitwell (TN) Middle School has expressed their great appreciation for the JMA's support of their capital campaign. For those of you who couldn't “attend” the virtual Ride2Remember online program last October 1, you missed an uplifting, inspiring event. Fortunately the entire event was recorded and is available for on-demand viewing at: virtual Ride2Remember recording.

Thanks to the unparalleled generosity of Barb and Abe Miller who donated their entire $25,000 matching grant even though JMA fundraising fell a bit short of that target. When the R2R was canceled, so many paid registrants voluntarily left some or all of their fees on deposit as a charitable donation. Thanks everyone!!
