Fun Things To Do in San Diego Without A Motorcycle

Prepared by Danny Herbst, JMA Vice President Elect

So maybe you will find yourself with a little extra time in San Diego. No need to be bored, there is so much to do there.

Whale Watching

It turns out that Whale Watching is not just in New England. California has whales too. Who knew? Though several whale watching tours operate out of San Diego, only one cruise whisks passengers out to sea on an actual sailboat. Harness the power of the wind on this whale watching sail, where you board a replica 1851 ship for your cruise.

Brothels, Bites and Booze: A Culinary Tour of San Diego's Questionable Past

Take a walking and eating tour of San Diego’s somewhat questionable past.

• If everyone had an ocean, across the USA.. well you know the rest. What’s a trip to southern California without surfing?

• Are you afraid of ghosts? Take a ride on the dark side during this spirited and entertaining evening trolley bus tour. Hear about stories of history and mystery and the legends of San Diego’s past. See sights including the Whaley House exterior, Old Town, and 2 cemeteries.

• Always a favorite to visit, the San Diego Zoo. Perhaps the most famous zoo in the world, it is one of the top organizations dedicated to the preservation of wildlife throughout the world. This is a must see.

• Plus we have a very special opportunity during the R2R. Reserve the time from 4 to 6pm on Saturday.

CHUCK SPIELMAN a friend of the Butterfly Project and now a friend of the JMA has amassed one of the foremost collections of classic and antique cars from all eras from 1930 to 1969. This is a privet collection not open to the general public, but he has opened his doors to us. The collection includes some extremely rare items such as a1930 Duesenberg Convertible Sedan and a 1934 Packard 12-cylinder Convertible Coupe. These 2 examples represent the finest prewar American autos.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity. Busses from the hotel will be available.

INVITE FRIENDS AND FAMILY

So maybe you have a cousin in La Jolla, perhaps you have an aunt in Pasadena (the little old lady from?) your collage room mate is in Beautiful Downtown Burbank or the black sheep of you family is in Venice. They haven’t seen you in ages and would love to spend time with you but you will be pretty busy with the R2R. Well, did you know that R2R participants can invite friends and family to dinners each night.

Have them come for Shabbos Dinner and stay for services on 9/9.

Most likely, if your relatives are any fun at all they would love the chance to get to meet the JMA.
